چکیده
Harmonic generation in the scattered fields produced by a dielectric sphere coated with time-varying conductive shell is studied using Mie theory approach hybridized conversion matrix methods. Analytic results are derived for plane wave incidence as well general external excitation transition techniques. An equivalent transmission line also discussed. Numerical examples validate expressions through comparison purely numerical methods and convergence characteristics explored. Several additional illustrate unique trends far- near-field scattering.

Effect of Exponentially-Varying Properties on Displacements and Stresses in Pressurized Functionally Graded Thick Spherical Shells with Using Iterative Technique
A semi-analytical iterative method as one of the newest analytical methods is used for the elastic analysis of thick-walled spherical pressure vessels made of functionally graded materials subjected to internal pressure. This method is accurate, fast and has a reasonable order of convergence. It is assumed that material properties except Poisson’s ratio are graded through the thickness directio...
متن کاملOptical properties of a photonic crystal of hollow spherical shells
We report on optical transmission studies of three-dimensionally ordered photonic crystals of close-packed spherical shells. These samples are fabricated using a double-template method, which allows for extensive control over shell thickness. The transmission spectra exhibit an optical stop band, whose spectral position and width depend on the thickness of the shell and on the overlap between a...
متن کاملEffect of Material Gradient on Stresses of Thick FGM Spherical Pressure Vessels with Exponentially-Varying Properties
Using the Frobenius series method (FSM), an analytical solution is developed to obtain mechanical stresses of thick spherical pressure vessels made of functionally graded materials (FGMs). The cylinder pressure vessel is subjected to uniform internal pressure. The modulus of elasticity is graded along the radial direction according to power functions of the radial direction. It is assumed that ...
متن کاملBuckling of Spherical Shells Revisited
A study is presented of the post-buckling behavior and imperfection-sensitivity of complete spherical shells subject to uniform external pressure. The study builds on and extends the major contribution to spherical shell buckling by W.T. Koiter in the 1960’s. Numerical results are presented for the axisymmetric large deflection behavior of perfect spheres followed by an extensive analysis of th...
